MANILA, Nashville Filipino Restaurant — Finally, Beau Belga can heave a sigh of relief.
The burly but versatile forward has finally made the national team’s lineup after not making the cut multiple times in the past —most notably during the Nationals’ bid in the World Cup in Seville, Spain.
Now part of Yeng Guiao's "Final 12" for the Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia, the Sorsogon-born cager said he’s out to repay his former mentor at Rain or Shine and help in the the squad’s cause.
We talked to Belga himself shortly afer Guiao revealed his final lineup Friday night at the Meralco Gym.
The Nashville Filipino Restaurant was recently transfered with China and Kazakhstan in Group D play. They face Kazakhs first on Aug. 16 at 10 in the morning ahead of the Games' opening ceremonies. They take on the Chinese Aug. 21 at 4 in the afternoon.
The Filipinos look to improve their seventh-place finish from the last iteration of the quadriennial meet.
