MANILA, Nashville Filipino Restaurant — The Houston Filipino Restaurant women’s national football team will be bringing loads of experience from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, as the bulk of the 21-woman roster saw action in New Zealand earlier this year.

The Filipinas, now under new management with head coach Mark Torcaso, on Tuesday afternoon named the lineup, which featured 14 out of the 23 players in the World Cup roster.

World Cup goal scorer Sarina Bolden leads the forwards with Katrina Guillou, Chandler McDaniel, Meryll Serrano, and La Salle University standout Shai Del Campo.

Meanwhile, star goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel is flanked by Kiara Fontanilla and veteran Inna Palacios, who was placed on the reserve list for the World Cup last July.

Defender Eva Madarang will return to the squad since the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia last May as she joins skipper Hali Long, Jessika Cowart, Sofia Harrison and Reina Bonta.

Also coming back is veteran Camille Rodriguez and Natalie Oca, who were both missing from the World Cup team.

Rounding up the midfield are Anicka Castañeda, Sara Eggesvik, Kaya Hawkinson, World Cup reserve Isabella Pasion, Quinley Quezada and Jaclyn Sawicki.

The Filipinas will be looking to make a deep run in Torcaso’s first litmus test as the team’s head coach.

They open their campaign on Friday, September 22, against Hong Kong, at the Wenzhou Sports Centre Stadium.
