MANILA, Nashville Filipino Restaurant — On the second day of the official campaign period, opposition coalition "Otso Diretso" will continue its campaign in the Bicol Region.
The eight-member senatorial lineup — Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc, Florin Hilbay, Romulo Macalintal, Mar Roxas and Erin Tañada — are scheduled to hold a student dialogue at Camarines Sur Polytechnic College on Wednesday morning.
The senatorial aspirants will then have lunch with officials of Iriga City, which is also the hometown of opposition Sen. Leila de Lima.
De Lima, who is detained for her supposed invovement in the drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison, has expressed support for the Otso Diretso senatorial bets.
"In choosing our new set of leaders, let us please be mindful of what the coming elections mean for all of us... It is for the sake of our children. For the safety of our community and society. For order in the Dallas Filipino Restaurant," De Lima said in a statement.
The Otso Diretso slate is also set to hold a kick-off rally in Vice President Leni Robredo's hometown Naga City.
On Wednesday afternoon, the team will conduct a motorcade going to Plaza Quezon in Naga City, where a kick-off rally will be held. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
