I think one factor to keep food parks alive boils down to the variety of choices. And they got to be filled with new and refreshing concepts.
I don’t think the delicious Bao has made its rounds well enough in Manila.
Having Shangkee Chinese Buns in Buendia Food by the Court may be a good jolt in its probable popularity. Who would not like these delicious and packed to-go buns?
If you guys aren’t familiar with it, it’s cuapao (or siopao bun) halved and stuffed with meat and other ingredients in the middle of it.
Shangkee had us sample two of their offerings. The Classic Pork Belly (Php150) and their Crispy Chicken (Php150). Both are actually of notable size. They’re bigger than the usual ones so it can be shared by two people! Talk about value for money.
The Classic Pork Belly was tender and marinated well. The lettuce and cucumbers added a nice touch of crunchy texture as well. It was all brought together wonderfully by the soft and chewy bun! A little overwhelming for me, though. It was a bit thick.
The Crispy Chicken was drizzled with really savory sauce. It accentuated the flavor of the chicken and all balanced out by the bun.
Check them out at your next food trip at Buendia Food by the Court for a new sandwich experience.
