The prestigious group behind World’s 50 Best Restaurants recently launched the first regional list of The World’s 50 Best Bars brand, with an event at The Capitol Theatre last night.

The launch saw one of our local bars recognized as one of Asia’s best, coming in at number 25. The Curator, since its conception, has been one of the pioneers of the cocktail industry in Manila, with an ever-evolving menu of cocktails mapped out by flavor notes on a spiderweb. The local icon is incredibly serious about their craft, which has made them the best in the Philippines.

There is also much to celebrate with Singapore’s Manhattan taking the top spot, as two of its head bartenders are both Filipino. Along with Philip Bischoff, Cedric Mendoza and Gab Carlos create libations inspired by the golden age of cocktails, in a beautifully-appointed space tucked away in Singapore’s Regent Hotel, using a library of ingredients all made in-house.
